形態特徵

• Large trees to 10 m high, trunk 0.4 m across; bark grayish-green; young branchlets with dense long brown hairs.
• Levaes somewhat similar to common paper mulberry (Broussonetia papyrifera), thick-chartaceous, obovate, 11–17 cm long, 8–15 cm wide, entire, often 3–5-lobed to parted when young, margins serrulate, hairy at apex, acute at apex in age, cordate at base, upper surfaces glabrous except for few yellowish-white hairs on the midrib and lateral veins, lower surfaces short white-tomentose, midrib and lateral veins with long yellowish-brown hairs, reticulate veinlets with long white hairs, palmate veins 5–7, lateral veins 4–6 pairs; petioles with long brown hairs, 2.4–5.5 cm long;
• perianth of male Flowers 3–4-lobed, stamens 2, anthers longitudinally dehiscent; perianth of female Flowers 4–5-lobed, violet-red, tip of style hairy.
• Receptacles paired, axillary, sessile, ovoid, 1.7–2.5 cm long, 1.5 cm wide, with long brown hairs outside, without basal bracts;

分布

• 台灣 : At river sides and in valleys at altitudes of 800–1,400 m, in broad-levaed forests of Touna village, Kaohsiung and Sachi forest road and Mt. Weiliao, Maolin, Pingtung.
• 世界 : China (S & SW), Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar, N. Thailand and Indonesia.
